I am 33 years old. I was born in Beverley, East Yorkshire. I come from a long line of farmers. My Dad, Mum and brother run the farm (near Goodmanham) - no animals, just crops. I was never very interested in it so I studied art at school in Pocklington and college in York. I received a BA(Hons) in Graphic Design specialising in design for screen from Coventry University in 1998.

I live in Leeds city centre and walk to work. I like living in the city but like to head back to the countryside every few weeks to cleanse my lungs.

I used to play a lot of rugby for Pocklington and Driffield in this country and for Waverley in Sydney, Australia. I don't play anymore thanks to various knee injuries so I spend my time working out in the gym instead. I love body pump classes and running.

I have spent a couple of years living in Australia and I absolutely love the place. In fact I'd quite like to live there again.

I attend as many web conferences and geek get togethers as I can afford.

Work history

I graduated from Coventry University in 1998 and have been working in web site design ever since. I've had a few different roles and have worked on many different projects both in the public and private sectors.

I've got lots of experience across many different disciplines. These include: project management, information architecture, user interface design, front-end development, visual/graphic design, Flash development and back-end programming. My main areas of focus these days are interface design and front-end development.
